About Me

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Hi, I’m Kyan, a software development and cybersecurity graduate based in Auckland, New Zealand. I love learning by doing—whether that means spinning up cloud infrastructure, experimenting with new frameworks, or accidentally burning hundreds of dollars in AWS because I forgot to tear down my stacks.

I love anything tech, one day I might be vibe coding, the next I’ll be messing around in Fusion 360, Blender or Unity, or maybe even shorting battery packs in my back yard!

I can also make a good coffee. I really want to buy some cool coffee tech like the EG-1, but in no way can I justify the price for any reason.

EG-1 by Weber Workshops.

I also tutor! Did you know that?

If you are in NZ you might bump into me at tech conventions or meetups. You’ll have a 9/10 chance of seeing me at the rebooted Python Auckland meetups! Also the Christchurch meetup is great too!

What Drives Me

  • Curiosity: I love jumping into new tools—AWS CDK one week, GCP free tier the next—because you never know what you’ll discover until you try.
  • Hands-On Learning: From 3D printing microcontroller gadgets to rebuilding rental Beam scooters, I learn best by getting my hands dirty.
  • Money: I try to be frugal with my side projects, always trying to by cheap components from Aliexpress, or using retired thin-clients for my IoT projects.
